Today I ate smoky brisket tacos at Angie’s Restaurant, a desert diner fifty miles east of El Paso. My silver mustang convertible rental baked outside and leathery dudes in cowboy hats found their lunch break a whole lot more interesting with the arrival of city slicker #1 (me) in a white minidress that felt unfortunately short for the surroundings and my friend Shannon, city slicker #2, resplendent in oversized Dior sunglasses.
More to come from Marfa, where I spent a weekend celebrating an 8th generation Texan’s wedding and getting to know a lil more about the lonestar state.
